Uganda is a landlocked East African country situated just next to the world's second largest fresh water body, Lake Victoria. Bordering Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan and the Republic of Congo. Some of the main attractions of Uganda include lakes that cover more than a sixth of Uganda, snow capped mountains, forests, waterfalls and more. The country boasts of some of the best game reserves in the region including Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Kibale National Park and Mgahinga National Park.

Mgahinga and Bwindi are famous for hosting more than half of the world's remnant population of the critically endangered Mountain Gorillas that number about 300 individuals. Other famous parks for those on Uganda safari include Queen Elizabeth National Park, Rwenzori National Park and Murchison Falls National Park.

Uganda is gifted with gorgeous climate and can be visited throughout the year. However the dry(ish) period between December and the end of February is the best time to visit the country. On the other hand, those looking to hike in the Rwenzori mountains should consider scheduling their Uganda travel in January or February, or between mid - June and August.
